Wine of the Week - Previous Title Holders

Woodstock Cabernet 2006

What did we pay?
Expect to pay about $25 retail

Comment:
Surprisingly easy to drink now, stratight out the box. Everybody here in the studio liked it, if that's some indication. New label too. I reckon it'll shock the loyal punters who have been around longer than colour TV, but then all good vintages come to an end.

Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir 2004

What did we pay?
Expect to pay about $30 retail

Comment:
Awesome wine. Big and jammy. Not too high in alcohol. Get some. This is real Pinot.

Taylors Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1998

Where did we get it?
Bought it about 8 years ago from Tucker Seabrook (the agent for Taylors at the time).

What did we pay? about $10

Enclosure: Cork

Comment:
Has aged really well. Brick red in colour. Plenty of flavour. Drank well the entire time it was open. Surprisingly, no sediment at all. Glad we have a few more of these stashed away.

Old school label. Big type, in your face. I like it.

Kangarilla Road Shiraz 2004

Where did we get it? Cellar Door

What did we pay? $19

Enclosure: Screwcap

Comment:
Opened up beautifully a couple of days after the first glass was poured. We are often finding this to be the case with screwcapped wines. They don't breath like corks so the wine stays fresh longer. Anyway, good wine, one par with Woodstock '04 Shiraz.
